In order to be an educated tailored gentleman, one must specialize and take pride in being able to properly name articles of clothing, and in this case, hats. Here are some of the most popular hats throughout gentleman history. Be able to distinguish a Pork Pie from a Campaign hat and you’re one step closer to being a tailored gentleman. TTG

In the wake of tragedy at the Boston marathon finish line, fear and a rush to classify the nature of the attack have been rampant. But one Texas Republican’s comments have led to outrage and head-scratching after he said that in the wake of the bombing, Americans must remember that radical Islamists are training to “act like Hispanic.”

About the bolded

I’m pretty sure it’s more like some white dude saw it on a rapper and thought “I’ll be a good fan if I wear those/People will think I’m cool like him”. It’s misguided, but right now (us) white people are obsessed with gold because of Rocky, Kanye and so forth …

I think it’s really inappropriate to dismiss the personal lived experience of PoC like that. There is a LONG history of African American culture being either ridiculed or appropriated by white people in the U.S. and it’s not a form of admiration (that’s an excuse people use for cultural appropriation) it’s yet another way white supremacy forces whiteness upon people of colour; by stripping them of their identities and culture. It’s no accident; it’s racism.

I really need people to stop acting like this is just an isolated incident and it hasn’t happened before (and continues to happen).
